Family Swimming Festival
Wednesday 5th March
The five Walton High feeder primary schools entered students in the Walton High School Family Swimming Festival. All Saints, Barnfields, Berkswich, Leasowes and Oakridge selected eight students, four boys and four girls, all from Years 3 and 4. All students were placed in mixed teams; red, blue, yellow and green.
 
Before the event commenced the swimmers met two of Walton’s budding swimming superstars: Adam Rowe and Keira Wilkinson, and heard how they started their swimming careers, how hard they both train and what their future plans are.
 
The Festival comprised of individual strokes and ended with some fun canon relays. The Blue team led the way right up until the relays when they were pipped at the post by the Red team comprising of A Clark and E Collier (All Saints), L Bairstow and T Boote (Barnfields), M Bridge and L Walton (Berkswich), E Gorman and J Davis (Leasowes) and B Fidgett and T Ryde (Oakridge).
The event was organised by School Sport Co-ordinator Mary Robertson and was efficiently run by Walton High Year 10 Young Leaders.
