The 2007 Walton Community Event held on Thursday 8th March to coincide with National Science and Engineering Week was a great success. Over 400 people attended the event which was organised as part of the Walton High School's specialist science status gained in 2004.
An enjoyable time was had by all participants. There were many varied, colourful, artistic and creative 'jitterbugs', solar powered boats and buggys racing around the hall, social area and science labs!
Competitions for Key Stage 2, 3 and 4 generated lots of excitement with Oakridge Primary winning a play off for first place with their individually designed 'Jitterbugs'.
An award ceremony was held at the end of the evening with Mr Steve Burgin, President of Areva presenting the certificates. Free refreshments were enjoyed by all.
